mission weekend

Each year the Mission Committee of the Church organises a Mission Weekend. It is designed to:

 

- focus the Church’s attention on mission
- inspire the Church to be more involved in mission
- encourage active support of mission work.

 

The event is open to anyone and is usually held on the third weekend in March.

 

The weekend usually follows the following format:

 

- It often starts with an informal coffee morning on the Saturday morning.
- The main event is a mission-orientated program of speakers, musical items and a meal on the Saturday evening. Attended by in excess of 150 people, a ticket is required for this meeting.
- The Sunday morning and evening services are mission focused.
- A youth event following the Sunday evening service with young people from other churches invited.

 

The speakers are varied and may come from mission organisations, the mission field and from the Church’s own members involved in mission.
