prison fellowship

Volunteers from a number of Aberdeen churches (including DCDC) visit Craiginches Prison, Aberdeen under the auspices of Prison Fellowship Scotland. Prison Fellowship supports the Prison Chaplains in evangelism; pastoral issues, Bible study groups and resettlement of prisoners on release.

 

Ex-offenders are invited to visit Prison Fellowship volunteers at The Lighthoose project, Tillydrone, Aberdeen where holistic support is offered.

 

Work in the prison itself goes on formally four days a week:

 

Sunday - Services are held in both the male and female units on Sunday mornings;
Monday - Women’s craft work
Wednesday - Women’s one-to-one informal sessions

Thursday - Men’s Bible study group and discussion

 

Prayer support is a vital part of this challenging ministry.
